ABOUT ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

Of the many diseases that involve memory impairment, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form, affecting about 10% of people 65 years and older and nearly 50% of people 85 years and older.

Alzheimer’s robs its victims of their memory and their ability to think, communicate, perform basic tasks—and eventually, it robs them of their lives.

It also robs friends, family members, and caregivers of their loved ones—causing heartache and distress as it pulls its victims deeper and deeper into dementia. In fact, more than 50%.

More than 78,000 people in Arizona suffer from Alzheimer’s disease—along with hundreds of thousands more nationwide. This is an epidemic without a cure. And it’s a crisis we’re determined to solve.
