Alzheimer's Prevention Registry Being Promoted on the National Stage

11/2/2012
Women around the country are blogging about the Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry after Jessica Langbaum, Ph.D., Banner Alzheimer’s Institute principal scientist and API associate director, spoke with 30 women who blog frequently about motherhood and women’s issues.

This is the first of many outreach efforts to raise awareness of the registry and encourage people to sign up to help end Alzheimer’s disease. Langbaum also recently met with editors at several national magazines to spread the word about the disease and the Registry.

The focus of the Registry is two-fold. First, it creates a strong group of advocates interested in the latest research studies and promising therapies. In the future it will also offer people the opportunity, if they choose, to participate in future research for the prevention of Alzheimer’s.

With a goal of registering 100,000 people by June 2013, about 4,000 have joined the cause so far. You can make a difference in this devastating disease. Take a moment to sign up for the registry at www.endalznow.org. Together, we can defeat this disease without losing another generation.
