The National Institute on Aging's five-year grant will allow Arizona researchers to share data and resources for projects studying Alzheimer's disease and other age-related disorders.

The grant was awarded to the Arizona Alzheimer's Disease Core Center, a group of 150 researchers at seven research groups in the state.

Those research groups include Arizona State University, Banner Alzheimer's Institute, Banner Sun Health Research Institute, Barrow Neurological Institute, Mayo Clinic in Arizona, Translational Genomics Research Institute and the University of Arizona.

The federal grant will help pay for five research and support areas. Those areas include clinical, data management and statistics, neuropathology, education and administration.
